Nikon D300 discontinued? Signs of an upcoming D400?
By Pat Shaaw
I saw an interesting rumor today posted by NikonRumors.com which hints that the Nikon D300 has been discontinued. Apparently a Best Buy employee has claimed that the Nikon D300 is discontinued by the manufacturer. Normally this would be a low value rumor, but supposedly NikonRumors.com also received similar reports from several similar European companies. The post says the Nikon D300 was removed from the Nikon Europe websites, but I looked on a couple such as the French website and found it. So? Is this a legitimate rumor? A sign of things to come? In the past, products being discontinued have been met shortly thereafter by the next product in the line, so is the Nikon D400 on the immediate horizon? My guess is no. At this point I’d say its all just hearsay. Check on NikonRumors.com to make your own opinion.

Hi
I found five camera shops in UK, that are still selling the Nikon D300 mode. Jessops, CARMARTHEN CAMERA CENTRE, FFORDES PHOTOGRAPHIC , CAMERA WORLD, BRISTOL CAMERAS.
In US. B&H Photo says they are out of stock on D300, but you can still get D300 SLR Digital Camera Kit with 18-200mm Lens. The web site address: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=search&A=search&Q=&sb=bs%2Cupper%28ds%29&sq=asc&sortDrop=Brand%3A+A+to+Z&ac=&bsi=&bhs=t&ci=6222&shs=&at=Brand_Nikon&basicSubmit=Submit.
In Canada you can still buy Nikon D300 body or a body and lens kit at Vistek or at Henry’s camera stores.

July 30 Release Date on a Nikon D300s in Europe. So a D400 now almost officially will wait until the interim D300s continues the D300 legend. The D300 is my single favorite camera ever. The D300s will have a better sensor, an some video capability. Other improvements will have to wait for the D400 introduction which now logically will be about August 2010.
