Cameras & Accessories

By Pat Shaaw

Some of us can’t wait until the Nikon D400 is released to get our camera supplies, and some just bought a camera and it wouldn’t make sense to upgrade at this point.  Either way, here are some cameras and accessories I’ve heard either good or bad things about.  Whether you’re a professional photography that makes a living off your art, a hobbiest that just loves expressing yourself through your camera, or a casual user that just likes taking pictures of your friends, there will be something on this page that will be for you.

Do you have a photography related product review you’ve written that you’d like posted here? Email me at admin@nikond400news.com and I’ll add it to my site.

Nikon D300

NIKON D300

The Nikon D300 is the best camera I have used to this day.  It host quite an impressive array of features that help bridge the price gap between the professional cameras and the casual hobbiest.  These features include:

-12.3-megapixel DX sensor
– 3 inch color LCD screen
– Up 6-8 Frames per second of continuous shooting
– 51-point auto focus
– Self cleaning sensor
– And much more

Price range(Body only): $1750-2000 USD

Nikon D50

NIKON D50

The Nikon D50 is the first SLR camera I’ve owned myself.  Mine has seen better days but its a trusty piece of equipment and still does the job fine even after several years of use.  It is
– 6.1 megapixel
– 2 inch LCD screen
– max resolution of 3008 x 2000.

Though discontinued now, there are still quite a few floating around the internet mostly used but some new.

Nikon D700

NIKON D700

Taking a step up in the Nikon line of SLRs is the Nikon D700.  It is actually very similar to the Nikon D300 but it has an FX sensor instead of a DX, which increases the capabilities of the camera on its own.

– Nikon’s 12.1-megapixel FX-format (23.9 x 36mm) CMOS sensor
– Continuous shooting up to 5-8 frames per second
– 3-inch LCD with 921,600-dot (VGA) resolution and a 170° ultra-wide viewing angle
– HDMI HD video output
– Built-in Sensor cleaning system
– and much more

Price range(body only): $2700-3200 USD
